"Miss-iss-ah-gwa" sounds familiar
(I was just telling Jim last week that I was listening to a radio broadcast of a game between our local New England Collegiate Baseball League team and a team from Connecticut. Someone on the other team was from Mississauga and when the radio announcer tried to pronounce it he came up with something that sounded like "Miss-izz-wahh-gwaah.")

For anyone else, I was raised by a Texan...don't bother trying to get him to pronounce correctly.

great article Jim. One thing though i don't live that far from Mississauga and i don't recall a chilly night in August..... "One night last August, as Jamie Shaw stood shivering, with a couple of friends, at the corner of Battleford Rd and Erin Mills Parkway." Mississauga is a great city with a great Mayor. I use to live at Paisley and Hwy 10. Anywhere close to you?
