there still not sure.....the smoke started coming out of the crankcase, so they have no idea what started the problem that led to the meltdown

that sucks, unfortunately you probably gave us the answer in the opener... he just did a new turbo and fuel system.

That is awful!! I still carry comp & collision on my car. I have a zero deductible for comp (which would cover fire). It doesn't cost that much and it is money well spent.

might i add insurance probbaly wouldnt cover the Mods anyway just the car unless he had custom car insurance?

They would take them into consideration if he could show reciepts, etc.

Depends..... they cover aftermarket stereos... but they may not cover 200hp worth of upgrades as it then "is no longer the same consistancy of car initialy insured". If you go modding the hell out of your car let your insurance agent know. They may not cover it, or only cover it in stock form.
