Default my friend is officially a ricer

he just bought a 1997 honda civic with 107k miles
things he has done:
$400 maaco paint job which he claims looks great but the coat is uneven and it dont hide the dents
pulled the badges but hasnt bondo-ed the holes
bought plastic lense, led turn signal 'M3' mirrors off ebay for $15

things he plans to do:
projector headlights
an HID kit
a new shift ****
a new exhaust
a new intake
a stereo that would probly cost more than the car did
18 inch rims

i said to him "you do realize that with all that it will still be a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder..." and hes like "i know"

Just start beating him when he says dumb stuff. Over the course of a year my buddys went from two fords and a dodge, to two Bvilles and a Malibu.

The 18 inch wheels will only be worthwhile

without the Maaco paintjob
when the wheels are tasteful
when the car is properly lowered with lowering springs or coilovers

i already have, he said it because 'the exact car' he wanted, but if i was gonna pay 3800 for a 97 civic it damn well better be minty, shiny, loaded, and well under 100k, instead he got a dented up hood (it had previously hit a baby deer), a cracked light assembly, a home somewhere in the exhaust right up at the engine, presumable the manifold, cracked door panel, assorted dents and dings, no side view mirrors, faded peeling roof, and a broken seal aorund the hatch so the trunk and back seat were full of water and i mean FULL the spare tire compartment was turned into a full sink, so assume 3800 for the car, 400 for the paint, 300 for new hood, 200-500 for the exhaust dependign where the hole is, 50-100? for a new trunk seal installed, it still has all its little dents and to total cost of getting 'the exact car' he wanted, a black 2 door hatch with no options and stick, cost him just as much as my SSEi which came with less miles
