My first car, 1971 Mercury Capri. Made in Germany by Ford of Germany or Opel, I no longer recall. Bought it for $150, guy was asking $200. My buddy talked him down for me, I was afraid to talk him down for fear he might not want to sell it to me. Loved the car, although it burned more oil than gas. Although not the actual car, the is the exact year and color:

My first car was a 64 Falcon Sprint. Summer came around and I hit the side of a mountain so hard it broke the radio out of the dash and left it hanging by the wires.
I don't have any pics that go that far back, but here'* a googled one. In my color.

Can't find any pics from before the fire but I'm sure most of ya know what a '96 Corsica would look like. Car was hauled off to Omni-source as scrap a couple weeks later.

Ah the Corsica. Sister of the Beretta, also came in a hatch-back style.

This was my second car a 1982 Mercury Capri: It lasted about 6 months before the tranny went out on it. It was a stick and if I remember a v8 in it.

My first car was a '57 Chevy that we tore apart to rebuild the engine(never got it back on the road sold it)had a '47 Dodge 1/2 ton Truck that I drove to school after my second car got totaled ('64 GTO). Hey I had a '64 Falcon Sprint 260 v-8 4-speed (it would smoke the little tires in low and second and leave some rubber in third also)It had the white stripe down the side.

Wow. A Cortina. One of those cars you forget all about. Then vaguely remember. I remember a British Ford commercial where they took one down a ski jump but couldn't find it on the 'net.

Ya, the Falcon was a small car w/ little 14 inch tires for the 260 V-8. No where near as fast as best frineds 66 Mustang, but a lot of tie burning fun to drive. Didn't corner well around hairpins with gravel on the road. First of many lucky stupid thingsI lived through. I saw the edge of the mountain and alot of blue sky before she came around and hit a sheer rock wall.
