Default Is my Corolla Supercharged?

Hey there.

I got asked if my 1992 FX-GT 4A-GE Corolla was Supercharged...
Is anyone able to tell if it is or not from the photo of my engine bay (hopefully attached below)

Thanks.

What carfixer007 said ^^^^^^^

Airbox goes straight to throttle body:

Now I'm curious: What was the context of this question? If it was a Challenger, Jaguar, '90'* Buick, or a `94/`95 Previa, the question would make sense. For a 1992 Corolla it doesn't quite as much. I don't intend offense, just curious how this question came to be.

Thanks both for the input.
Do you mean that this kinda isn't the right forum for a Corolla question?
I was looking for a forum where I could ask questions about the Corolla as I need to get crankshaft bearings put in, but mistook some other piece for a supercharger...
Yea perhaps GM isn't the right forum. But I just needed to double check.

No, but good point . . .

Moving this thread from "General GM Chat" to the "Lounge" thread as it is not GM. I guess I didn't think of that aspect while thinking of what a supercharged Corolla would be like.

There, that'* done.

. . . and I can't speak for everyone here, but I know I like a little variety every once in a while. A supercharged Corolla is definitely "variety".

Back to the question at hand:

No, it is odd that anyone would ask if a Corolla has a supercharger. It'* not a supercharger kind of car. Not bashing on it, it'* just not. Just like how the Previa wasn't a supercharger kind of minivan . . . then desperation hit and Toyota decided to add a supercharger to it.

Ahhhhhhh... Gotcha.
Well, yes I suppose it'* not usual for a Corolla, but maybe more common for a FX-GT Corolla perhaps, at least the way I was thinking.
I was thinking maybe I was mistaken about it'* 4age engine, and that instead it had the 4agze supercharged version.

While I am familiar with turbochargers and the like, superchargers are a rather new thing to me.

I see.

Nearest I can tell they didn't make this in 1992.

Similar function but different ways of going about it.
