The only way Id consider getting a notebook is if I could build it myself with top of the line stuff for the same price or cheaper than a desktop. I dont want to buy some $3k laptop with a sh*tty 9700 Pro and not be able to play Doom3 at the highest settings.
I dont mean to offend anybody but,
apparently we found a rich kid... u gotta have alota money to afford something that can play doom3 maxed out without it becoming choppy.... infact u have to use pci express before u can break 30fps with the settings maxed out and u gotta use sli mode with 6800s before u can break an average of 60 fps with the settings maxed out. The ATI Radeon X800 XTGets a average of about 34fps on demo1 maxed out and its price is about $460. The Nvidia Geforce FX 6800 GT gets about 38fps in the same envoronment and costs about $475. And to break 60 fps u need to double the price of the 6800 gt and pay more for a sli compatable main board. with over $450 in just a graphics card u gotta be rich. and if u dont believe me about the framerates check some sites that benchmark hardware my favorites are http://www.tomshardware.com and http://www.anandtech.com and i got the prices from http://www.pricewatch.com.
