The distributor adjustment on the 4.3 will be slight... But i am in the frame of mind where you need to look at the timing....

My theory is it'* more of a tick vs a ping, and chances are it'* the classic 4.3 lifter tick. Many of them do that over 75-100K miles in the mid 90'*......My old chevy did it along with a friends Blazer and another friends 4.3L 1500......All of which were 94'*. I would be willing to come up to Bloomington to help you diagnose/eliminate it if it'* not the classic noise when you're home sometime.
