Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

My apologies

I think we all are still learning how tricky it can be to to communicate via the internet as was mentioned earlier. Its tough enough when face to face and even then you don't know how your message is being received until the other responds and without the benefit of body language you don't even have the option to modify what you are saying until after the fact. Then too when you go to old man mountain for sage advice you should know that somedays he can be a grumpy old so and so but his advice is still sound and should be heeded.

Nah, Venom, believe me, I couldn't do your job. I mean we all have our days but remember back when we were kids, the old guy always had the answer and he didn't mind telling you that you weren't the sharpest tool in the shed either. You just rolled with it since you knew he was right. Sometimes that little kick in the pants was just what you needed but it never felt good.

J/K. I prolly had the hardest head in the neighborhood. Always had to try something my way 2 or 3 times. It took alot of years before I smartened up and watch others and asked questions.

A little off topic here.

It is becoming summertime and you really should attend a meet. Outside of the obvious meeting your forum buds it really helps with the on line communication and understanding what the poster is saying. It is also a great way to say thank you to members that have helped you work through problems.

Established meets tend to have a personality unto themselves. NEBF is about members keeping their cars in working order and a Friday junk yard run. There are also mods going on and an occasional buff and shine. Really is a fun time and it makes you personally connected with other forum members.

There is a Michigan meet coming up and I will guarantee that you will have a good time. Ryan is a great host and will make you feel right at home.

My hat is off to Dan. Hosting a meet is not to be taken lightly as it is a big responsibility but equally rewarding. I hope to make it up there at a future meet. It would have been a lot easier if my cousins 2nd daughter still lived in Milwaukee.

I'm hoping there will be a meet in the Va. area. I'm unemeployed and in school year round until spring 2011 so my funds and mobility are limited but even a one day event in this area would be nice. I haven't seen many posters from Va. and none from Richimond but that doesn't mean there aren't any. I wish that I had known about this forum or NEBF when I lived in the midwest. Guess I'll bring this up in another thread.

I may be in the Richmond area the first week in June. Where abouts in Richmond are you?
