None of us are angels. And most of us are lead footed, and decent drivers. The thing here is we just prefer not to see how close you can approach before you cross a line. It'* simple, there is no line. Just don't talk about it.
Going 120MPH on a public two lane country road can't be legitimized or made safe. It doesn't matter what kind of car you have or driver you are. You may wrongly assume your reflexes can maneuver quick enough to keep yourself and anybody coming at you safe, disregarding unseen obstacles, animals, road irregularities, or worn tires/suspension/etc altogether. It'* a 2 ton fat azzed sedan, moving at 176 feet/sec. You've gone the distance of 3 semi-trucks+ before you can say, "Oh ****!" and reach for the brake. That'* not safe by any means.
I realize you didn't mean to start anything and thought you were within bounds and the twist the thread took left you feeling that what was said about the general mentality was direct at you, and the need to defend but to us there isn't a plausible defense for this, and I was speaking towards the general mentality. I didn't mean to make it sound direct at you personally. Lets just leave it as something learned about the general Forum mindset, and move on.
