the funny thing is that I had found a nice 78 in AR and then he decided to keep it now he is moving to Cali again and the car won't meet smog and is selling it again then of course I find another one yesterday in the paper like the first Trans Am I bought. I am torn because I want a turbo cruiser and the T Top car would make a great canidate but it is far from complete and the one here is complete and a twin to my first trans am. but they say variety is the spice of life. The biggest thing is with the car I have now I can retrofit the power seats that are in perfect shape and I could wire it in because I have to redo all the wiring anyway. I am just so confused right now. help me think this through

My uncle used to have a red 78 t-tops. That car was a blast. He ended up selling it to his neighbor for like $2,500. The guy fixed it up and tried to sell it back to my uncle for like $12,500.

If you have a choice go for one without the T-Tops. I have one with and one without. The one without is far tighter and handles the twist of the torquey engine much better.
The only thing I like about the T-Tops is the open air feeling when cruising. It depends on how you want to use yours.

You may want one just for parts. Finding certain parts will be harder than you think. There are more parts available for First Generation Birds.

http://s57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...trans%20am%20/

updated pics in there for those who care and are watchng this. I made a deal today the black bumper is going away for someone that trained in body work to help fix the body. Since he is a tech kid he has connections to get the engine machining done for dirt cheap. he will also help reassamble it too if all works out I will be cruising in no time.as you all can see the floor is all but gone and I will be making a custom turbo area under where the rear passenger would sit. and the other "seat" will be a bottle holder. the eventual plans are DP nitrous to spool the turbo quicker and so on but that is after I blow the trans lol. no worries I have a backup.I am in the drawing stages of the frame rigidity study silver bullet you will have a pm
