A frind of mine gave me his Mr Beer kit, and i just placed an order for a couple packages of beer mix. I would have gotten a bigger kit but the wife wouldnt let me spend teh money on all the stuff and not end up using it, so this way if i use the small kit she might let me get a bigger one after all!

I still use Mr. Beer for some of my supplies.

Do yourself a favor and just start with full malt mixes. The booster works good, but not as good as full Malt.

And this IS real beer. Not the commercial stuff you buy at the store, but REAL beer.

BTW, prime with Cooper'* priming drops (one per 12oz bottle, or 2 per24oz bottle). You can get them from www.williamsbrewing.com and they work much better than table sugar. Much easier than trying to get 3/4 of a teaspoon of sugar in a bottle each time too.

the full malt mixes are the deluxe and premium mixes right?

Yup. Some of them (premium) come pre-packaged. Some of them you pick your mix, then pick your malt. You can play around with the end result that way.

Try no more than one or two batches, and mature them before brewing more. You don't want 4 or 5 batches to be bad before you get to try them.

WATER QUALITY is the key. Be particularly careful with Sulphur content. Your local water department should have specs posted publicly for you to refer to.

if my local water is not good enought, what should i use for water? distilled? standard bottled water?

im guessing that my local water is not good enough, because it is not good enough for my fish tank...
