There are so many ways to format a paper. I prefer Chicago w/ endnotes myself, and I write 12-15 papers a semester. But if no one style is specified, then you should pick one that seems easy to you and get used to using it, this will greatly improve the quality of your papers.

There is the library page for my University, click on "Citing sources (APA, MLA...)" and there are great how-to guides. Get good at it and you just might become as good of a paper writer as myself (although that'* pretty damn good :P) jk

4 papers for your whole grade? So 25%?

Well 25% isn't too big to start with, and the auto A helps, so I wouldn't stress.
