I'm salary so my hours don't show. I know that sounds like the perfect BS story but it is true. We were sub-contracted for Kinder-Morgan in New Mexico. They had an emergency dig (thought they had a leak) in El Paso, TX and we were the closest crew to do the excavation. We had people on site 24 hrs a day for 6 days. I worked 36 hours my first shift. Then I went to the hotel to sleep a couple and was back for another 32. We did take a break and I slept on the sidewalk, using a McDonalds drink holder for a pillow for about an hour that night. But I was still on the clock! Followed those up with a 26, a 22, a 16,. Our hoe operator and one of the laborers had more hours than me. It was freakin nuts.

I generally have to shoot for 50/wk when I am in the office. The next couple weeks I am on the road (in KY this time) and we work six 10hr+ days a week. It sucks having only Sunday off but I guess there isn't much else to do anyway.

I knowl about the trucker laws. I always hear about our divers "adjusting" their log books so it comes out right.
