Default Mortality lesson (kinda tough to take)

****Depressing thread alert*****

My neighbor, in his early 40'* is in the hospital as of last week with an agressive lung cancer. They arent even sure how they will treat it yet. 2 weeks ago this same man was out doing yard work and washing his T/A like nothing was wrong. It came on really fast and includes his lungs and liver. Everyone on our street is hoping for the best and re-examining our priorties, health habits ETC. I would like to ask everyone here to please keep him in your thoughts, he is well liked in our neighborhood, as well as by yours truly. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor'* illness. Seems to young and too healthy to be in that situation but cancer has no concern for age, sex, race, social level, ect.

My mother died as a rusult of cancer in 1979 and my father died a little over 3 years ago from lung cancer. His illness was not nearly as sudden, though. He managed to survive a couple of years with treatment but sometimes I thought the treatment was worse for him than the actual cancer.

Out thoughts will be with him.

That is really sad news. It is things like this that make you look at all the blessings in your life and makes the problems that we think are so monumental just molehills. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
