Can't beleive the lady won't be facing charges. I mean, accidents happen but some can be easily avoided.

THE reason many vehicles now are made with window switches that can only go down if a child steps on them.


It'* tough when lessons have to be so hard-learned.

Thats sad. I've heard many stories like that one of children being caught in a window. I've left my daughter in the car while running inside to pay for gas, but I always shut the car off and take the keys with me and lock her in it.

Such a tragic thing to have happen!! I once left my son in a running car, and he decided to put the thing in gear heading out towards the street from a thankfully long driveway. I was able to jump in at the last minute and stop the vehicle before it went into the street thank god!! Since then, I never left him alone in the car again, till this day even.

Now at the age of 12, I could just see him driving away like Ricky Bobby did. lol

I have done this myself. And, the car has always been in my site.

window locks ........ if I have to well no my rear windows are always locked as with the child safety locks are on the doors.....

i will leave my son in the car but like said above it'* always in my site and if left running its locked and running with the remote start

something doesn't add up...

The six year old is sleeping and doesn't wake up through the entire time his sister is stuck in the window screaming? And the man who allegedlly freed her put her back in the care and never woke up the 6yr old before he went for help???
Was he kind enough to lock the doors before he left??

And then the mother comes back to find both kids "sleeping??" It'* 9 freekn AM!!! Anyone with kids will know they are bouncing off the walls by then.

Any six year old would be able to tell the mother about the sister...after all, he is going to school....

my 8 year old falls asleep in the car on a regular basis he always has.. some kids feel comfortable and safe in the car. maybe the 6 year old has problems at home sleeping maybe he had a rough night... there are to many maybes in this story to pick it apart.

It none the less is a tragic accident that is totally avoidable. In this day and age

I absolutely never would or have left a child in the car alone regardless of how easy it would make some things. I figure my first priority is to insure their safety and there are just too many perv'* out there to do that properly w/o leaving them unattended.

I even once 'talked' to a guy for leaving his 3 yr old in the SUV while he shopped in the drug store. My grandson and I came upon her crying her little heart out and we stayed out there 10 minutes talking to her before her dad came out; the doors were unlocked, all the windows down.... sad. Any perv could have walked off with her and been long gone before he would have even noticed. In 10 minutes I could have been on the NYS thruway for 5 minutes from that drugstore.

Then again I may just be too overprotective since he (grandson) was already kidnapped once when he was 6 months old when my daughter and her boyfriend lived up in Oswego.
