Xchat is a better IRC client, IMO.

But yeah.. IRC is filled with weirdos.. and eMule.. eMule guys [google it].

Mirc is alright.... if u go to the right place there arent as many wierdos.... but i would have to say that the genral population of IRCrs are wierdos.... if u find a nework that is centered around one topic (an example would be quakenet) u will find less of the wierdos

You enter Hubs, and then you can click user´* to get their file list or you just search for what you want. You click the Hub list and al Hubs will be listed.
Kinda like mirc but you can get everyone´* file list and download from it.
