I've been dealing with no on demand programming from my cable box and slower than turtle speeds/dropping connections for my internet.

Called last night.
First call to TV part of cable company. I was nice, courteous and explained I knew they needed to come out per other calls before. Try this one thing..ok.. how does 1pm tomorrow sound for a service call? I'm in awe..1pm the very next day Can't transfer me to internet part of company and can't schedule that repair.. ok. thanked the nice woman for the 1pm appointment.
Second call to internet area of cable company. Again..still in shock at my next day appointment I was kind and courteous. Guy says..you've been having this trouble for at least 2 months haven't you, he saw a ton of drops and connection attempts by my modem. How does a 3pm service call tomorrow sound?

I'll be leaving work early today. Still in shock.

Are you kidding? I'm with Comcast, and they're great. I get service the same day. Second day at the latest, and they always prorate me for lost service, although it rarely happens.

On top of that, I consistently get nearly 3mb/sec.

You'd be right on that bet. Simply from a provider view.. when you need to schedule two appointments and they both are the very next day.. MIRACLE

Your cable company doesn't do dual visits? Comcast sends one guy out that does TV, Internet, and Cable Phone.

Haha..I asked they said..sorry two different areas. Couldn't even transfer my call to the other. Remaining calm and nice I got the appointments within 2 hours w/o asking.

Comcast sends the guy weeks later and by then they figure they can only sacrifice one guy since you plan to kill him.

Damn. Almost like two different Comcasts.

I figure it'* merely more people to have beer with once they fix it.

Well, I moved just over a week ago.

I made one call to move my service. They asked how about this afternoon? That didn't work for me, so they met me at the new place at 1pm the next day. 30 minutes later it was all working. With that kind of service and 3mb speeds, the dish and DSL are big losers around here.

3mb? No wonder why you're slow and whiney.
