Michael Waltrip and Toyota?
That'* too bad. I like Mikey. Not big on the whole Toyota thing, but...Mikey is a good guy.
And, like they said before the race last week, the Camry is the only Cup car that is manufactured in the States.

I agree that a Camry is by no means a race car. But cmon, the cars on the track are nothing like their real life counterparts anyways, except the headlights (decals) and grills and trunks.
I am no fan of a foreign auto maker in a redneck ( I mean American) sport, but what'* done is done. I sill like Michael Waltrip is all I am saying.

Waltrip hasn't done anything in the last two years on the Cup Circuit. He'* resorted to cheating, toyota isn't the one dropping the ball here...
Neither is the Impala, infact they're direct competitors.

If you want to get right down to it, the Charger is the only RWD V8 car in the series. If they WERE to race the cars in truly stock configuration, it would go Charger, then a toss-up between the Monte and the Camry, then the Ford. Well, wait, I forgot about factory speed limiters, so the Charger would be trailed by the Monte, with the Camry over the Fusion.
BTW there are NO production pieces used on any car anymore, in fact with the template cars, a lot of the sheetmetal is essentially the same across the brands. And when the "Car of Tomorrow" phases in, NASCAR is going to become essentially a spec class. I'm almost glad Dale died before he could see whats happening with NASCAR.

The Fusion and the Monte aren't made in the US, but the Camry is.
Waltrip isn't even a 'top' cup driver. Never has been. He was good on the restrictor-plate superspeedways when DEI built his cars. He'* only got what, 4 career victories? In how many years? 23 years. 4 victories.
He'* a famous name because of his brother. No other reason. His rookie teammate will out-shine him easily this year, as will his former cup champion teammate, Dale Jarret.
