That sucks. One reason I love my neighborhood so much. No HOA, no picky neighbors. I want a nicer/larger home but that would mean pickier/snobbier neighbors. They are probably the types who take the car to the shop for everything and believe that the garage door should only be open when driving a vehicle thru it.

My brother had a similar problem with his 4 vehicles that were always undergoing some sort of "refit" It wasnt the police, it was code enforcement. All the vehicles were registered and the grass was always cut. After the 3rd visit from code enforcement snooping for something they could pin on him, he shared his new "landscaping plan" with a few of his neighbors. It included....

Tons of wooden cutout statues in the new "curb to porch" english garden.

Pink Flamingos, lots of em.

Picture window graced with an American flag

And his minivan painted with a new "military camo"paint scheme.

Funny how the complaints suddenly stopped

You might consider dropping some similiar hints

Edited to add: The pipebomb thing isnt funny at all, please do not even give that a moments consideration.

I can understand the roundup but powdered milk???

Ya prolly got a neighbor that'* a grumpy old canadian
Powdered milk will be invisible for a while. Then after a rain and then hot sun, it'll smell like curdled milk really really bad.

That powdered milk thing is kinda funny, or you could suddenly take an interest in raising peacocks, ever hear the racket a few of them could make?

The cops might be able to confiscate whatever you have thats making the noise. Ive seen them walk out with a few stereo'* when the owners wouldn't turn them down.

AS for the lights, I don't know of any ordinance around here. Check you area and the light up the hood!

That'* pretty ridiculous, i'm glad i have cool neighbors. We use to have a 4 foot launch ramp and landing setup in the driveway for about 2-3 years and me and my friends would ride BMX til the wee hours with a radio on and painting lights on extension cords lighting up the driveway and never had complaints.

That'* actually a really good idea!

People who don't have problems create problems. You could bet that if there were crimes in your neighborhood, the HOA'* would give up Pink Flamingo patrol.

Pissing contests can be fun, sometimes it'* better to left some stones unturned though. People can be nasty.

EDIT: And, this all reminds me: My next house is going to be in the country

Update:

Got the motor out tonight (the torque axis mount can go to hell) and got everything cleaned up around 10:30 (village ordnance is stop at 10) so at 11 when we were leaving after bsing for a half hour on the porch, the cops show up again.

They check for a quick second and say have a nice night and the other officer says the streetlight is brighter than my light and if she doesnt like it she can put up some curtains so it seems that they are even getting tired of it.

oh and i did talk to the shift commander and hes getting tired of her too, monday im talking to the police cheif.

If she cries wolf often enough, she'll hang herself, and will have no credibility whatsoever.

Play that game. Sounds like it'* going well so far.
