Default Me?...Next Darwin Award Canadite???

Yea, that'* right, genuise stirkes again... So here goes...

I was burning some old cardboard and scrap wood this afternoon. After about 2 hours it was all on the fire and burning down. So I walked over to knock it down a bit more. I used my right foot to kick the pile down a bit. No...I didn't catch on fire or anything but when I stepped back I ended up stepping on a nail. Yea, it hurt a little bit so I quickly reached down to pull it out. Normally this isn't a big deal. I've stepped on nails before. This one was probably in one of the used 2x4'* chunks I threw on the fire.

Anyways... I reach down to pull it out just to find that this nail must have been in the fire. I grabbed on tightly and pulled. I couldn't see it when I pulled it out but by the marks it left on my fingers I can bet it was glowing red hot. I spent over 3 hours with my hand in ice water so it wouldn't sting like hell. Finally my roomate woke up around 5pm (a little too much fun on the 4th ) and went out and got me some neosporin for it. So now I have three fingers with the perfect burned impression of a nail in them.

So does this qualify as a Darwin canadate? Even though I am still alive?

I'll submit that beauty of a story. Still doesn't compare to the idiot that mailed out a letter bomb, but it had insufficient postage, so, once it was returned to him for adaquate postage, the dolt opened it up and blew himself to bits.

Hows you finger? and no more fires OK Gord?

My fingers? Not too bad now. I cunsulted the "Doc'*" and he has me on some "speacial" lemonade. I am sure I will have these beautiful impreints of the nail for some time. But that'* all ok, it will match the very nicely cauterized (sp?) hole the nail intially left in my right foot.

BTW: my favorite story is still the guy who strapped the jet engine to the top of his car....now that'* a classic!

Well talking about fires I think I can beat that.
Here goes.

THis goes back about 6-7 years and it was when I first met Renée ( my fiance) well me and a bunch of friends drove through the bush to a lake adn decided to camp out for the night, well we had a fire and all was fine and dandy when there was a log that was hanging of the edge and so she decides to kick it back in the fire, but guess what....

SHe was wearing sandals not shoes and a chunk fell inside and got stuck by her toes, so she didn't want to go to the hospital that night but she was in so much pain all night, ( she is still stubborn, but what woman isn't , hehe, J/K ). So the next day I had to work but we finally convinced her to go to the hospital if not to get it cleaned up, well she was burned pretty bad and took most of the summer if not more to heal. So she has a scar that covers most of her toes now.

then again Gord, you got your fingers and your foot, with a hole, and it will be fun to see you at work trying to type, hehe, just about as funny as when your truck lost a wheel while driving.
