Lucky bastard! I wish my garage would fit my car.. I'm two inches short :(. Let alone tall enough to house a lift!

I too will end up having a lift in my garage once I get around to owning one. Just moved into an apartment with a garage that just barely contains the bonnie. My wife'* Alero (company car) looks like I could turn around in the garage, but the bonnie just barely fits, LOL! They are definitely useful things and with the prices dropping like they are on them they aren't all too far out of reach for the DIY'er. A lift will definitely help with the frame-off I'm going to be doing on my chevelle in a couple years.

Dude, if you work on your own car, you can install a hoist yourself. Just drill about 8 holes in the concrete and bolt her down.

Just make sure your concrete is more than 4" thick. For a decent lift, you'll want to have atleast 6" of reinforced concrete underneith those legs to keep the concrete from being to weak and possibly dropping your car. That would be bad... Mmmkay...

Better yet, if you are building a garage (like I hope to someday), just build in footers into the concrete slab for the future installation of a lift. Just make sure that you pour them wide enough and long enough to facilitate the use of various different lifts so you aren't locked in on one design only to have it be discontinued when you are ready to purchase it.

on that site they sell several versions of the lifts, but when I build im gonna get a 9 foot ceiling in the garage and leave enough room for one lift and one open spot....so if I want I can park 3 cars in the garage...2 stacked and one to the side......then drool at what i own HEHEHEHE
