We were staying with my inlaws in the Miami area. We left New Jersey on Xmas Eve and took the Amtrak AutoTrain out of Lorton, VA. We arrived Xmas Day outside of Orlando(Sanford), FL and I drove the rest of the way to Miami. It was nice to get away. Did some "touristy" stuff like go to the Parrot Jungle and ride the Air Boats in the Everglades. I also rented a Jet Ski for about 1/2 hour and splashed aroud in the ocean. We also visited some friends and relatives that live in Boynton Beach and the Ft Lauderdale area year round. Being a "Snow Bird" in Florida this time of year does have its benefits!!!

Wow, the new chick is already trying out my domain....

What part of Michigan you in? I've been to the UP. They get lake effect weather there in the summer! 9 million degrees in the daytime, butt cold at night...

I'm in the lower penn...a bit north of Grand Rapids. I've been to the UP too...it'* so pretty and they have some really nice beaches and such, but I wouldn't ever want to have to weather out a winter up there.
