3 or 4 megs in DDR2 RAM. The GB would be for your storage and that just depends on how much you want, I currently have about 625 gigs and am already needing to get another 500. Just depends on how much you download or how much you store and all that. I'd suggest just buying a cheap computer with a large case and just expand your self
Ok, may I ask then, whats the normal demensions on a computer case so I know what to look for in bigger..
I truthfully dont think there is a "normal" in comp dimensions. I mean I have 4 computers here, 1 is a foot tall and a foot long and another is 2 feet tall and 1 1/2 feet long. My 2 foot tall comp is a really good one because it gives me plenty of room to upgrade as I see fit. Now since you dont play a lot of games (Im guessing that means you dont play high end games) so a simple 32 Bit video card is cheap and still runs great.

for web browsing, and IM?
1GB would serve you fine for XP... 2 for vista.

i highly doubt you would need that much storage space either... if you do, you can get drives up to 500GB for reasonable prices, and will have no problem with space. almost all cases have room for another HDD.
He is right actually, if thats all your going to be doing then 1 gig is plenty for XP. Havent had any experience with Vista tho so I cant say anything there.

I was just suggesting a high amount of storage cause its better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

I have three HP laptops and am totally and completely sold on them. Much better than the Dell'* I have owned. I have the tablet HP and it is the most awesome-est thing evah!

On desktops, I always buy from systemax.com. You get all the name brand parts at incredible discounts. My super-desktop at work would have cost $4500 at Dell, but got it at systemax for $2800. Good quality. Worth it.

I will NEVER EVER EVER buy a Gateway.
I;m wary of Toshiba laptops. Several colleagues have had build issues.

Thanks for the info! I will check that website as well, on searching as we speak!
