Default looked at a car--need advice

I know I'm going to sound like a traitor, but I looked at a Chevrolet today. It is a Metallic Blue 2005 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged. It has Ebony leather with blue inserts. It has a body kit and 16in bronze finish rims. It has a Pennsylvania DOT sticker on the windsheild, but was bought locally b/c of the tag on the trunk. It has a Supercharger, but I'm not sure what motor is in it. It has a 5speed. It is in mint condition and he wants $25000. It is fully loaded. Is this a good price and is this a dependable car?

If not, I also looked at a 2003 Firebird WS6, yellow/black leather, mint condition and a 2004 Acura *whatever the 2 door is* with a 6 speed and a carbon fiber hood, black/black leather.

Your guess is as good as mine. I'm gettin real desperate. This place don't sell cars to fast, so I'll prolly have time to get some money. I'm gonna try and talk the dude down some.

true, but it will be nothing in comparison to a transam, v-8. that scares me to think how much its gonna cost for a 16 yr old male.

i really dont think insurnace companies take power adders into effect all that much, i know insurance for Bonnevilles is pretty much the same whether they are NAed or SCed, i think the big thing for insurance companies is engine displacement, body style, # of doors, and drive type....among other things, but im not an insurance expert, thats just what ive always heard.

What, did you inherit some money or something? When I was 16 I had like $100 to my name. I'd say Cobalt SS is the way to go. Nice high 13 sec car stock. WS6 is faster but most are beat on so thier a little tired. Acuras suck and are 16-17 second cars. So, yea, Cobalt SS.

'03 WS6? I'm pretty sure 2002 was the last year for the Trans Am.

The Ecotech in the Cobalt is a reliable motor, and the SS runs high 14'* stock. Horrible wheel hop though. Mechanically it'* reliable but I'm not sure how long the body will hold up...it is a lower level Chevy.

The LS1 is a good motor as well, runs mid 13'* stock, but most F-bodies are beat on. Look that car over good for any mechanical problems. The interior is better quality as well.

Don't even think about switching to

Insurance is going to be killer on any kind of sports car, so it really comes down to what you want. That'* why I like my Bonneville...14 second car, but the insurance doesn't reflect that.

Its quicker than that. I'm quite sure it ran mid low 14s in mags and some users have squeezed high 13 out of em'.
