Default Logitech Z-5500 Review -- (Home Theatre/Computer Speakers)

I've wanted these speakers for 2 years now, finally found a set at a good price. I've listened to countless home theater setups costing twice as much but these are louder and sound better.

1010 watts, enough to wake up the neighbors down the street. Enough power to make your ears hurt.

Midrange a bit lacking but they are 4" or so mid ranges. Highs are good, a bit harsh.

As computer speakers they are overkill, however my computer is also my home theatre so it works out.

As a home theater setup you can not find a set that is anywhere near this good for the price. Its possible to get em for around $200 shipped if you look around.

I wanted that set also but I got the Z5300 (~300 W) for X-mas in '06. I am overall very happy with mine too. The bass is great and the highs are ridiculous. I agree the midrange is a bit lacking too...a little messy. I use them for music mostly, and shooter games I play on the PC are a blast with these speakers. THX certified too, and when I get a home theater system I will be getting the 5500s.

That'* a 10" sub.

The sub I have on the 5300 is 8".

EDIT: The 5300s have a 6.5" sub (sounds bigger).

I have the same set, picked it up last fall. I had also been wanting this set for a while. They rock the room, and the house if I want them to. They aren't made for larger rooms, but they fill my room quite well. How do you get 1010 watts though?

Most HT Systems in this price range rate on the "max power rating" vs the RMS

RMS is 505.

Good surround speakers for computer, but not HT.. I'd love to see that do 500w All channels driven.

Why do you have the surround speakers infront of you?
