A little help with troublesome 98 GA GT
Hey guys, I'm going behind my bro'* back..
He brought a 1998 GA GT with the 3.1 and auto tranny, the thing is we told the dealer we wanted a full tank with the purchase of the car, so the dealer went to get a full tank, well the car wouldn't shift out of park so the dealer had to walk back to the dealership and break to us the news. Fast forward to yesterday, the dealer refused to fix it (even tho they broke it) and offered to refund my bro'* money back. My bro said no just sell it to me cheaper so they did. Well the car can be driven, you just have to turn the key to on (but not starting) and shift it in to N then start it. Well my bro got a new shifter from GMPart and the new unit WILL NOT shift at all, it won't shift out of park, It'* a brand new unit and I"m stumped so is my bro. Shhh, my bro doesnt' like me asking Bonnevilleclub.com
Any advice, it'* throwing a lot of codes but I can't get it out of my bro.

*flatlines* Charge the paddles to 3000000000 and CLEAR! *ZAP* Great I got a pulse...
This thread has been revived. Is there any other possibilities? I'll get bashed by my bro after I suggest these things but oh well, I should mention that it'* a floor shift, not a column shift.
and for the suggestions that William and Pat suggested, what would be the remedy?
