Default liscence suspended because i got 2 tickets within 2 years

justice or overpunishment. is it just me or is that overdoing it, according to the new laws, if u make 2 mistakes while driving and a cop sees it u lose ur liscence, i guess what they didnt think about is the fact that people need a liscence to support themselves, keep a job, and basically to live period, anyway its suspended until april, if u ask me this is nothing but pure BULLSHIT. what do u all think

what were your tickets for? It really depends on what the violations are.

Mich has a points system, so little violations are worth a point or whatever and bigger ones eat up lots of points, I think it works...it keep things in perspective.

Yeah, if you were convicted of speeding as a felony (major speeding) then maybe it should, but if it was like failing to signal 2x.... :?

You may be able to get a license or permit to drive to work.

In ohio 20mp over is reckless op, which is 4 points. Failure to yeild is also 4 points. 6 points is a suspension. Regular speeding tickets are like 2 points so you can get 3 before suspension...

Go talk to your local judge. They usually could care less and lessin the fines. In your case they may just let you keep your license.

Oh yeah, if you have the time ALWAYS go to court over a ticket. In some states and in some situations you can exchange points for community service. You'll get like 10hours of community service but they'll take your ticket away. I think thats just for first violators but its up to the people there, can't hurt to ask. My wife got a deferment on one of her tickets. That just means they won't charge the points as long as you don't get another ticket in x amount of time. If you do though, you're screwed. At the very least they usually lower the fine. I've had a $300 lowered to $210 and my friend had a $595 (yeah he was going 120) lowered to $300 then later taken down again to $220. The best thing, and this depends on the state, is that if you go to court and the cop doesn't show up they drop the ticket. I've seen it happen myself in Maryland so I looked it up. So I know at least 3 years ago this was the case in Maryland, might wanna see if its true there too.
