Let'* see how smart you really are
First question:
You are a participant in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in?
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
answer : If you answered that you are first, then you are absolutely wrong! If you overtake the second person and you take his place, you are in second place!
Try to do better next time.
Now answer the second question,
but don't take as much time as
you took for the first question, ok?
Second question:
If you overtake the last person, then you are....?
(scroll down)
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
answer: If you answered that you are second to last, then you are......
Wrong again. Tell me sunshine, how can you overtake the last person??
You're not very good at this, are you?
Third question:
Very tricky arithmetic! Note:
This must be done in your head only.
Do not use paper and pencil or a calculator..
Try it.
Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000 now add 30.
Add another 1000. Now add 20 .. Now add another 1000.
Now add 10. What is the total?
Scroll down for the correct answer......
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
did you get 5000?
The correct answer is actually 4100....
If you don't believe it, check it with a calculator!
Today is definitely not your day, is it?
Maybe you'll get the last question right.... Maybe...
Fourth question:
Mary'* father has five daughters:
Nana, 2. Nene, 3. Nini, 4. Nono, and
what is the name of the fifth daughter?
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
did you answer nunu? No! Of course it isn't.
Her name is mary! Read the question again!
Okay, now the bonus round,
i.e., a final chance to
redeem yourself:
A mute person goes into a shop and wants to buy a toothbrush.
By imitating the action of brushing his teeth he
successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done.
Next, a blind man comes into the shop who wants to buy a
pair of sunglasses; how does he indicate what he wants?
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
it'* really very simple
he opens his mouth and asks for it...
Does your employer actually pay you to think??
If so do not let them see your answers for this test!
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
pass this on to frustrate the
smart people in your life! Have a nice day, one and all.

I have to 'fess up and say I'm a geezer and heard most of them here and there before. There was one about coins way back, and it puzzled me forever. When I finally gave up and peeked, It was a very large "Duh" moment.

I'll quick do the math one, it is just a trick your mind plays on you.
Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000 now add 30.
Add another 1000. Now add 20 .. Now add another 1000.
Now add 10. What is the total?
ok, let'* take the numbers 1000+40+1000+30+1000+20+1000+10. Now break it apart
1000+1000+1000+1000+40+30+20+10
4000 + (40+30+20+10)
40+30+20+10=100
Your mind expects 100'* instead of 10'* between the 1000'*, especially since you are hurrying.... Therefore you expect all those to add up to 1000 instead of 100.
4000+100 = 4100
I'm a mathematician, so that is one of my favorite brain teasers, cause it is so easy to get even the most seasoned mathematicians with it.

I'll add a couple more
If you have 15 sheep, and all but 9 die in a flood, how many sheep do you have left?
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
answer :If you answered 6 you are wrong, all but 9 died, therefore you have the 9 left that didn't die
Second question:
How many animals of each type did Moses take on the ark.
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
answer: None, Noah was the one with an Ark
Third question:
A man is trapped in a room. The room has only two possible exits: two doors. Through the first door there is a room constructed from magnifying glass. The blazing hot sun instantly fries anything or anyone that enters. Through the second door there is a fire-breathing dragon. How does the man escape?
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
He waits until night time and then goes through the first door.
Fourth question:
Some months have 31 days, how many have 28?
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
All of them do.... lemme guess, you said one.....
Is it legal for a man in California to marry his widow'* sister?
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
No, he is dead if he has a widow
Last one:
Math cause I love you guys
Divide 30 by 1/2 and add 10. What is the answer?
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
70. 30 divided by 1/2 is 60, plus 10 is 70
Want one more math one to make up for that last one?
How many 2 cent stamps are there in a dozen
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
12. Obviously there are 12 stamps in a dozen, why would you think 6?
There, Now you can all share my title
