What a major deal about his hand eh? I feel a bit suspicious myself, but I really don't think he was cheating. I mean how stupid would you have to be to put something so visible there when he could have put it in his glove and it would blend in? The other thing I wondered is if he was using pine tar, but maybe Weaver was as well? I heard a comment that 60% of pitchers use it, and since the Cardinals weren't accusing the Tigers, maybe both teams were guilty and figured they had better get rid of it since the camera'* caught them.

It was also interesting how the commentator'* interview with the coach resulted in "we heard about the concern, but don't know any other details at this time..."

But, I'm with you Grimm, I don't think Kenny would have risked using a foreign substance in a World Series game. It sure would be nice to know what it was. The side-by-side comparison definitely showed evidence of it being there in the first inning, then gone in the second (or at least not as much of it).

I don't want to think he was cheating, but the information is stacked against him. A pitchers power, control, and ball movement are all determined by their grip. With how cold it was last night, his hands probably reasonably slippery.

Some facts..

No pitcher would leave dirt on his hand, it would kill his grip. I have a hard time believing any pitcher, let alone a very experienced veteran would leave dirt on his hand during a world series game. It'* also hard to believe that he would pull something so obvious.

Yeah, but it was only on for one inning so I dont think its that much of a difference, he did pitch a good game. Oh yeah
