Yes this is a duplicate post but for those of you that don't read the chat room sticky.....
Well I figured out why we are experiencing the mysterious auto-kicks in the chat room, in short it'* the servers fault and not the chat room script.
The chat room script calls a Pearl process called "Server Push" which when called is a running process on the server. It appears that the server sets a maximum run time value for this process once it is started.
After some testing I have found that this process is killed 50 minutes after it is started and when it'* killed the chat sessions are killed as well requiring you to log back in.
I can set the chat room to "Safe Mode" which will then use "Server Pull" preventing us getting kicked out because of the Server Push process being killed but if I do there are some disadvantages such as lag time, when you type a message there will be a lag of a couple seconds for everyone'* browser Meta refresh to pull the new line down from the server and it will use a lot of bandwidth because everyone will be pulling data from the server (including old lines of chat) even if no one is saying anything.
So in conclusion we can try that or live with the 50 minute "auto kicks" that will happen by the server.
As far as the server crashing last night and being locked out I was told that they don't believe our chat room was the cause of it but they did see suspicious activity from three accounts on that particular server, one of which was us so they decided to lock them all out. It'* a good thing I called them right away I guess.
