left clicker no click...

left clicker no click...

my laptops touch pad mouse is acting funny... i can touch it and drag the pointer around. i can right click. but no left click options work... tap or button... is it broke or is there some setting that accidently got turn on/off...

check the connector and be sure its seated good. in the meantime you can doubletap the touchpad and it will act just lick you double-leftclicked.

well the double tap doesn't work either, tried that one right away. actually thats what i usually do but when it stoped i tried the button, it doesn't work either. I called gateway on it, they are thinking hardware failure and want me to send it in. i was hoping to find a quicker fix though...

Connector... I wonder how far i'd have to take it apart to check that. I don't want to void warrenties.

Will a single click hilight something? (Usualkly in blue) If it does then its something in the software not recognizing the doubleclick, maybe the speed is set way to fast.

edit - the touchpad connector is usually right below the keybd connector; if your keybd is 'user removeable"
