With the way computer animation has been lately, all I can say is.....
Now they just need to come up with the REST of the cast. I'd like to see Sean Connery do Capt. Gloval (Though if Starblazers were to come out on the big screen, I'd rather him play Capt. Avatar), Tyra Banks as Claudia, and Vin Diesel as Dolza.

Sean Connery has kinda gotten too old now, he'* falling apart....
Too bad Edward James Olmos is already taken...
Michael Dorn for Dolza...
Sean Bean for Khyron...
No ideas for Roy Fokker or Rick Hunter, but I think Toby Maguire is wrong for Rick..

I am an animation enthusiast and must sayEwww. They are basing it off the retarded "Robotech" series that lacks cohesion instead of using the unmolested original timeless space opera MACROSS. Great!
It am more excited about the Japanese Gatchaman movie that is being made.

Just had a re-think while going to work. Hows about Tom Selleck for Gloval?
I agree Toby is all wrong for the part. I also don't know how they are going to fit the whole first series (or second and third series for that matter) into a 2-hour block. But I imagine they will leave out these facts:
1) Macross City being inside the ship.
2) Minmei.
3) Max and Miriya (maybe...but w/o these two, there would have to be a different main character in the second movie)
4) SDF-2
5) The Factory Satellite.
And I would like to know who the h3LL is going to play Lisa.

Mankind is forced to use the technology to fend off three successive waves of alien invasions. The first invasion concerns a battle with a race of giant warriors who seek to retrieve their flagship'* energy source known as "protoculture," and the planet'* survival ends up in the hands of two young pilots.

Looks like she could look the part. Lisa was pretty, but also a hardass in terms of military demeanor.
I think I have a winner (again, in the looks department) for Roy....how about Paul Walker?
And Toby McG would be better cast as Max I think.

Ok people, play nice! It'* kinda irrleevant anyways. Just take a look at what they did with Transformers. The ONLY thing that stayed the same were the names and roles. Completely NEW storyline, redesigned 'bots, and a hot chickie.
The "movie" Robotech will probably follow suite. There is no way they can cram everything, be it material from "Robotech" or "Macross", into a 2 hour or less film. If they were smart, they would follow closer to "Macross", with loose tie-ins to the "Robotech" storyline. The director will have to make alot of decisions on what and what not to keep in the story. The battle for the Factory Satellite, Khyrons Christmas attack, and that Minmei & Kyle drama are prime for the cutting.
Besides, the beginnings of "Robo-cross" had the storyline start around 1999. Meaning there is already going to be a timeline re-work for the film. So I seriously doubt this new film will follow classic "Robotech" storyflow. It'll be an all-new interpretation.
