I dunno. I've driven my buddies 5.3 Siverado and the L67 can smoke it. He only has a K&N drop in filter that prolly didn't do much. His mom'* LT1 97' Silverado is faster off the line until 30mph then the 5.3 is quiker. I'm sure both run mid maybe low 16'* at best.

SIlverado'* didn't get LT1'*....

Our 98 Yukon with a Vortec 5.7 is great. It'* a muscle car drivetrain in a huge truck. Having the SUV rear end keeps traction good (i'll whoop on trucks), and it'* faily predictable in drifting and powersliding, which i've always done on approved courses...

And when we took it out to Moab Utah 4 wheeling, it KICKED ***.

Yup, its the weight. At least 5000 lbs. If you want an LT1 sleeper get a 95 or so Buick Roadmaster. Yup, it came with the LT1. Runs high 15'* stock. 4200lbs.

Bill'* is a 2000....5.7'* were discontinued then to my knowledge. He has a 327 (5.3).

I think the 3/4 tons may have had the 5.7 still then. I'm not sure.

I'm pretty sure all thats available now is the 4.3 V6, 4.8 V8, 5.3 V8, 6.0 V8, 8.1 V8, and the 6.6L(could be wrong) Diesel. I can't say that I've ever seen or even heard of a newer gen chevy truck with a 5.7...

Are they still making the 8.1? Haven't seen or heard anything about those in a yr or so at least?

You're right with the diesel....6.6 L Duramax.

And for the record......a stock 5.3 L will stomp a midly mod'd 5.7 L any day of the week
