I was watching the race. And the topic title mis-spelled LASER. 
It'* not Lazer.
I was actually offered a job several years ago working on SDI. Strategic Defense Initiative. That was the space-based lasers that shot down ICBMs. I turned the job down, since I'd be living on a tiny pacific island for 11 months out of the year and I wanted a sex life.
I chose wisely.
