Very simple. Take out the hard drive, put it into an external enclosure made for 2.5" drives, plug that into a desktop and then get the pics and any other files out. Not too big of a deal.

By the way...what kinda Toshy is it? I'm on my second, I love it. My last one took a crap when it got 24oz of water spilled on it. After taking it apart and letting it dry, it actually still worked kinda They're great machines. Hers might just be a component failure, like the HD or something. Hopefully her information is not corrupted or anything.

Oh I'm working on it as I type But it just chit again. Off to staples I go.

good luck with that. hope it keeps running for the time being. and hah, yeah, these batteries barely last a year. they start to adversely affect the function of the computer when they get really bad

well, if it'* the batteries, I can't really help you. If it'* the hard drive thats starting to break, put it in the freezer for a few hours.

the freezer is for the hard drive only. When they start to malfunction, putting it in the freezer will usually cause the internal parts to shrink just enough that they will work again. It is a short term fix, and will usually give you enough time to transfer data. If it'* the battery, I don't have any ideas/suggestions unfortunately.
