I'm pretty sure the Vantec 4 series are all upflow coolers (ie - they blow air up onto the bottom of the laptop). Please verify that before ordering.

a cheap and easy cooler is to take a food tray and cut slots into it so that air can flow under the laptop. install fans if you wish

if you know how to use a screwdriver, you can just take them apart and turn the fan around and be done with it

My processor runs up to 62C when running a virus scan.. :? Want to ensure it stays cooler.. software fan control doesn't work with my laptop for some reason

Aye thats true, but that takes more brains than some people have plus it usually voids any warranty.
