Default Land rover Discovery getting stuck in iceland!

Wow...i gotta story to tell ya! Me and Oskar Thor (he had a land rover discovery) Was driving on the outskirts of Reykjavik, having a great time. i got alot of footage, but we went on an offroad-only trail around the mountains. After we did that, we were driving back and on the way, there was this lake. This lake was the same lake Top Gear went over in a car. so we went down onto the sandy coast and rode the waters off the coast. There was this very tiny peninsula on the coast, so we went on the peninsula and BAM we were stuck. i looked out, and saw the land rover was DEEP into the sand. first thing he did was call 911. We got some help...but anyway, we waited 30 minutes and saw people going by the road the little beach was off of. It was a Volkswagon van touring the mountain. oskar asked him if he could take us up the road where we could meet the tow truck half way. he said yes...and about 20 minutes up the road, we saw the tow truck. 2010 Ford F-450. we stopped him, and told him it was us in the land rover. he gave us a ride back to the stuck land rover. so we went there, got his winch out, and he backed up enough where we could attach it to the frame. He went back to his truck, oskar started the land rover, and he began pulling it out. a few tugs later, it was like it never happend! So we drove somewhere to meet my father...he was happy that i had an adventure. Overall...i think it was a great day with my bro. I will remember this day for the rest of my life!

^^^^I tryed posting it on facebook...damn thing said it was to long. Videos soon...got about 50 minutes of icelandic offroading footage. unfortunately, the battery on the camera died before we got stuck. trust me, she was deep in there!

Default Icelandic offroading

Land rovers hardly ever get stuck, they normally break down first.......
In 2000 I watched pro offroading Icelandic style, simply the best display of offroading skills I have ever seen. They use purpose built vehicles, basically a 4WD setup in a spaceframe chassis with big block engines. They manage to climb cliffs, traverse 60 degree slopes and cross water in these amazing machines.
If you ever get the chance go see it!.

Rusty...those are the newer land rovers. This land rover is an old-style land rover and, at the time it got stuck, had over 990,000 kilometers clocked on there (thats 615,000 miles). Plus, this was his DD. It was extremely deep sand and i don't think even the biggest vehicle could get out of it without help.
