He'* fully doctored already, and up on all of his shots. Nutria aren't known for carrying diseases. They're actually pretty clean, as most rodents are (despite the reputation they have from the Black Death).
He has a small tear on one ear, and a perforation of the upper lip, all clean now, and disinfected. The fight lasted about 5 minutes. He took his time maneuvering for the neck. He'* a VERY smart dog, and well-versed in Nutria, Raccoon, and Possum killing.
The rest of the blood you see on his forelegs and right rear leg are from the Nutria, not him. I'll clean the rest up tomorrow.

I had to lock Mick up when I took it away for disposal this morning. Didn't want him going back for it
The neighbor told me last night that a Nutria almost that size killed 2 of his dogs about 10 years ago. Small Terriers, but large Nutria can be vicious when cornered.

Anti ? No way. The beaver is the state animal of Oregon, too. It'* on one side of our flag.
Flag trivia.....Oregon is the only State that has something different on each side of the flag.
And that'* a BIG water rat. Weighed about 30 pounds. I know. I had to dispose of the sucker.

That'* a big one! Good dog!
We have rabbits coming out of every orifice here, and I go after the damn things with a .22. I missed one of my shots by a few inches a day or two ago, put the bullet into the ground right in front of him, and watched, dumbfounded, as the rabbit leaped three feet straight up, and then dropped dead from fear on the spot.
