now I remember! The lawsuit that was won in favor of the people was the one about how record companies have fixed the minimum price on CDs or something like that. There was like 12 million or billion involved in the settlement.
The artists are paid such a small fraction of the CD sales, the record companies take most of it. As a result, I dont really feel sorry for them. People will still buy CDs, if they really want us to stop using the internet they will quit putting filler on CDs and start making them at a reasonable price (like $5, not $20). I bet they are fueling this whole movement due to their bad attitude, they are alienating customers.

lol...does that have the same effect on a certain type of movies? LOL...my firends are big on the downloading **** on my high speed internet since they only have 28K...its really pathetic...they come over...lets start dling...while me and my gf are watchin tv or somethin...

I am sorry, but its so greedy what they are doing. It sometimes reminds me of a little 2-year-old throwing a fit in a store. Most of the recording companies have too much money anyway. Hopefully all of this will lead to some changes in the industry. They are working so hard to prosecute people, when they could be offering them cheap alternatives. Look at Apples' $.99 per song thing, that is getting alot of business.
