Default Join me in a quest! Let'* do something worthwhile.

I have long been a sworn enemy of Jiffy Lube. I'm aware, as many of you are, of their shady practices, greed, and stupidity. I'm requesting that each of you cut and paste the quick write-up I've created below into your email, and send it to all your family and friends. Encourage them to pass it along as well.

Wouldn't it be cool to see these jerk-offs go down in the flames of boycotts? Let'* make it happen!

_cut and paste below this line______________________________________________ __

Jiffy Lube stores have built a strong history of ripping off customers by charging
for services they don't perform, using the wrong fluids, lying to customers about
manufacturers recommended fluid change intervals, and duping customers into expensive
'flush' procedures they don't need. This has been going on for years.

These are not isolated occurences. There are thousands upon thousands each year,
and Jiffy Lube is very likely responsible for the mechanical failures of MANY cars
and trucks each year. Poor management practices, poor employee training, competition,
and sheer greed have been driving Jiffy Lube into illegal practices that can
eventually cost you a good engine or transmission. I can't afford a new engine or
transmission, can you?

While this warning is specifically pointed at Jiffy Lube, be aware that many similar
chains and local owned shops are guilty of the same practices. A general rule of thumb
is to select your shop carefully by reputation, word of mouth, and gut instinct. And
a little research wouldn't hurt either.

Below are some very good examples, links, and references backing up the claims against
Jiffy Lube. My personal recommendation as a long-time self-mechanic and Administrator
of a prominent automotive internet Forum is to NEVER do business with Jiffy Lube. You
put your car and money at risk by doing so. The horror stories below back up this
advice:

Boycott Jiffy Lube, and send a message not only to them, but to all the other rip-off
shops out there.

I have had hard feelings about them since years ago I spent the full bendover and watched as closely as I could to what was going on under my car and I felt they didnt replace my transmission fluid as payed for. There is no way they dropped my pan and replaced the fluid in the time they were under the car and it'* hard to see whats really going on in the pit. I wouldnt think of using them again and am reposting your text in myspace as a bulletin where it will make some rounds.

I also recently saw a expose on TV about a slew of shops across Southern California witched reinforced my opinion of them and assured me it isnt just a shop here and there.... it'* the entire chain that is a sham.
