Default I've got to give the wife some credit.

She needed to get into my car (Mercury Sable) while we were on vacation. Since I have my F150 keys on there as well I handed them to her by the Sables key. She took 10 steps, turned around, and came back saying
"This is a Ford key! "

..."yes honey, Ford owns Mercury."

Although they may be the same shape, Ford and Mercury SHOULD have their own logos on the key. My Mopars all have the Pentastar on them, really makes it confusing.

And since Ford only used something like 166 different keys for a long time, there'* a chance it may have actually worked!

Even though my car keys have the black head on them, people still get them mixed up with my Chevy truck keys.

Someone mentioned them maybe working, my Chevy truck is an 81, my friend has an 86. My ignition key will unlock his doors. Crazy.
