Default Picked up a rental car today. It'* a Pontiac....

Grand Prix. 2006 with the Series III 3800.

I know that there are a couple of folks that have these on here.

I'm sure that this is a very base model and the souped up models are nicer.

Immediately noticed a lot of differences. Stiff seats. Visibility is pretty poor. Interior finishing details are extremely flimsy (again, it is a base model). Door handles seem pretty flimsy too.

I'm really suprised that Pontiac would make such a base vehicle. Wow. Can't wait to get the van back so I can get my car back!

Well ist a rental so its should be pretty base but has the basics. The one I drove was pretty nice and the the 3800 was felt like watere compared to me GXP which I owned at the time. I sure wish they rented supercharged 3800 GPs wow!!

Car has a little more punch than the '04. Not sure if that is a function of the series III or the general differences between the Bonneville and GP.

The GP may be geared more aggressively, I cant remember right off hand though.

If it is an SE, then it probably has the 3.29 gears. The extra punch is due solely to lower weighter and lower gearing. Believe it or not, the Series III N/A actually has less power than the Seies 2 N/A.

The SIIII i drove was kinda laggish off the line, with the drive by wire throttle and all. Then again it was a lucerne, and not my old car with the tweaked induction.
