Default It'* Officially "Murphy Week"

Murphy'* Law... whatever can go wrong will... from the very minor to very large. I can't remember all the stuff that has happened, broke, or hurt this week... all I know is that I've declared it Murphy Week.

What I can remember...
Thursday.. made a pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, etc... 10 yr old comes in tossing a football around. As soon as I ask him to take the football outside and to NOT play with it in the house... he fumbles... TOUCHDOWN in the pan on gravy. It did't look as good on the walls as it would have on the potatoes.

Friday .... roll out of bed... "SQUISH". Carpet is all wet. Cussed out the dog and cat thinking that someone got excited in the bedroom and it wasn't me. Further investigation showed that it was a leak from the adjacent bathroom tub faucet. Great. Call in to the insurance agency and a general contractor.

Saturday.... took the kids bowling - yes, bowling. Stop laughing. It'* a league for one adult and two kids. Initially I though "Great! What a cool opportunity to do something with the kids during the long winter and maybe meet somebody." Got there to find only one other "team" showed up. Only four total. Not going to meet a whole of people that way.

...and the one team that did show up... another single mom who I happen to know already. So much for making NEW friends.

...carrying the bowling ball to put into the rack... misjudged the scoring console, smashed my finger, bled all over the place. Great. Hadn't even begun to bowl yet.

....went to the bathroom to clean up the blood. Decided I'd better actually USE the bathroom since I was there. Found out the hard way it was "that time of the month". But of course...

... upon taking care of business, my recently purchased jeans decide that I don't need the full use of my zipper... yes, it was stuck in the DOWN position. Wonderful!

At this point I was just standing in the stall laughing my *** off over all the things that had just happened. With a sweatshirt wrapped around my waist to hide the zipper and other discerning marks, I went on to bowl and had a good time with the kids. I guess it'* a good thing there weren't any new men there to meet after all.

Aren't you the one that doesn't need to 'meet' anyone because you have "friends" that you can call with no strings?

Correction... I have one "friend" at a time only... besides, I never said I wouldn't settle down with someone... just haven't met the right one ... need to keep meeting people until I do.

Tracy:
I am having one of the same type of weekend. I put new brake pads on the family van and replaced the brake fluid. When braking in the pads I noticed the van was overheating. Did you know there is little or no room to work on an engine in a newer van? What a drag, it is a major operation just to change the thermostat. This will cost me dearly to have fixed.

Tracy, I truly didn't think there was anyone who could have a "Murphy'* Law" week as bad as mine, but you have proven me wrong!!! Wow girl, I don't know how you do it. Thanks for picking up my spirits, and remind me to tell you about my week
