And stinkning hot too, last time of year you'll want to be in a tux. And depeneding on the dress she wears it can be worse for her, those things can be surprisingly heavy. The mrs. and I got hitched Aug 7 a year ago, thank God for AC is all I'll say.
I would say give serious thought to buying your tux instead of renting. It'* not all that much more expensive, if you think you might be at a few formal black ties in the future, buddies taking the vows etc.

October weddings are the best around here...the foliage really makes the formal shots. My sister did hers October 6th, and I think it was a little early because the leaves hadn't changed much yet. I'd pick mid October if that counts as off season (just don't do an outdoor wedding like my sister did....brrrr).
