Yeah, he gets paid for the top gear series, naturally. I've seen seasons 8-15 and they're awesome! Did you notice he was driving that Ariel Atom 500 there? 500hp, ~1000lbs, 0-60 in 2.3. Insane!

The american version will not be as good. American cars a junk compared to what they review. I don't think they will find a team as good as those three.

The other thing is that the BBC version is government funded, so they can say whatever they want on their air without worrying what an auto manufacturer might think. The US version will be a privately hosted show, and has the possibility to be influenced by companies with deep pockets.
