OMG.

This just goes to show how much safer cars have become over the last 40+ years. If someone had been sitting in that Lemans this story would be much more tragic.

I feel bad for the owners of both of those classic cars. I'm sure there is a story behind each of those cars. A lot of passion, and dedication and money. Goes into making a car look that nice. Then for it to be taken out suddenly would be heart braking.

You go out to a car show looking to have a good time and you end up with a smashed car. I guess you'd be thankful that you or a loved one was in the car when it happened.

I went out to a car show once, with my Cutlass. Got into a really bad rear end car accident. Wasn't my fault. Sure ruined my day. Just glad I wasn't seriously injured.

I went by a stereotype the other day weaving badly.... She had a phone in one hand, a mascara applicator in the other(and the steering wheel) and yelling at the kids in the back of a minivan......To much multi-tasking going on for comfort. I went around her, pointed it out to the wife, and said "What no Starbucks coffee?

The damage is what surprised me, although it was a t-bone, would of thought more damage to the Lexus, less to the boat.... Pontiac.

First thing that came to mind was not a stereotype, but a stuck gas pedal... Toyota/Lexus.

Had a stuck gas pedal driving my F-350 on a federal highway in Northern Arkansas in 2007. Went to pass a 18 wheeler and after passing him, the Ford kept going and going super hard. Took a second to realize. I shifted to neutral, engine raced and then shut off the key and drifted to the shoulder. Its not as quick to address a stuck gas pedal as one would think. In my Ford'* case, it was a new Ford where they put the floor mat in upside down and it creeped into under the gas pedal and caused the problem. After that I often think of punching a hole in floor mats and running a wire from the hole to the seat to prevent creep.

A: It burned out in the accident

B: The picture was taken while it was in the "off phase".

C: The impact actually turned it off for her.
