I'm in the process of trying to get a Videophone from Sorseson. Think of it as a regular phone for the deaf popluation.
I meet all hte criteria except the Videophone requires a cable or a DSL modem but i"m using Verizon'* Broadband 720USB that plugs into the USB port.
Is there any way that the Broadband can go into an ethernet cable (if that'* what it'* called)
I'm confused, that'* why I'm technologically retarded.

I'm not sure how the videophone works. Does it connect to your pc or router? List a model # and I'll do some looking.
If it plugs into your pc and doesnt' work with your USB connection to your router then check the back of the router for a standard network jack. If you have one it should be as simple as unplugging the usb cable and plugging in a cat5 cable from the router to the network jack on your pc. Alot of techs take the easy way out by using a usb connection instead of a true network connection.

I believe Cody would have to put a switch/hub on his pc'* ethernet jack, enable internet sharing on the pc and plug the voip phone into the switch. I don't think the 720 has any other jacks then rj11 and usb.

The VP (videophone) is a Sorenson VP-100.
Here are its requirements. I really don't understand any of it.
System Requirements
What do I need to use Sorenson VRS?
Currently, Sorenson VRS supports the Sorenson VRS equipment/videophones, Sorenson EnVision SL, and Microsoft NetMeeting solutions. All of the solutions will require a high speed (broadband) Internet connection to transmit the video. You do not need to purchase a computer if you plan to use a TV with a Sorenson videophone.
Sorenson VRS Equipment/Videophone System Requirements:
256K broadband Internet connection (i.e. DSL,Cable,LAN or high speed IP connection)
Sorenson VP-100 (videophone appliance)
TV with video input
Sorenson EnVision SL System Requirements:
128K (256K recommended) broadband Internet connection (i.e. DSL,Cable,LAN or high speed IP connection)
Pentium III 333Mhz processor or faster
Windows 98 SE/2000/XP (2000/XP - Must use Admin level login.
XP only - Internet Connection Firewall must be disabled)
64 MB RAM
15 MB free hard disk space
VGA/SVGA monitor with 16-bit color (24-bit recommended)
I'm currently in talks with the installer but I don't know what to ask because I told him that I'm using the Broadband but he said that it has to be a cable or a DSL which I cannot get out in the rural area hence the Verizon. If you have any questions, I can email him and i"ll get to sound smart in the process

Ask him if you can setup a network between your pc and the VP-100 using a crossover cable and then bridge that network to the Verizon Wireless Broadband service.
I'm not sure if the 720usb is supported, have you ever used it with netmeeting? They use the same type of connection so if t Netmeeting works with the 720usb then there'* a pretty good chance it will work with the VP-100.
