Before I drop a money order in the mail headed for Canada, is it ok to send money order in US funds, does it need converted first... anything like that?

Depends on where you're sending it. Do they accept US funds? Have you allowed for conversion to the end user? Etc, etc, ad nauseum....

Yes, it needs to be converted to whatever funds you are sending. For example, when we send to the States, we send a Canadian money order but in US funds.....If that makes any sense

IT must be sent in Canadian Funds.
I just had this problem, Canadian Banks WILL NOT cash an American money order

I live in Canada and receive US money orders ALL the time, they can be sent in ANY currency.

Banks WILL cash any currency money order, I don't know what bank you use matt, but it must be seriously weird

Just determine who'* receiving it, if it'* an actualy company or such they will want a specific CDN amount, if you send it in USD the exchange rate that day may cause you to have sent too much or too little, if it'* a friend or something ask them which they prefer.
