Finally got a chance to rip in to my old engine, and this is what I found.

So it got tossed in to the back of the truck. Off to the scrap yard with it.

Wait.. what.. I see gasket material, milky ugliness that means bearing or something. What about the cam and your thought that a cam bearing went bad?

The gasket material is likely from the 400 times I've had the engine opened up.

But look at the first picture, that'* bits of metal.
