the other day i was sitting almost on E, between E and 1/4 tank, closer to E, i filled up and it would only hold 10.5 gallons...now i have a 17 gallon tank..i dont know if any of you are expert mathematicians or not, but that isnt quite right..is there any way to fix this cheaply? or just deal with it?
It'* likely a faulty sending unit. The one on my 99 was bad too. After filling it up, it would lay on E for the first 75 miles. Then it would go back to F.
Plus, you have to remember that the tanks in these cars have a very funny shape. I like to compare it to an upside down triangle.

Last Friday I got home and had 1/4 tank, my son went to fill it up and came back and told met when he got in it that it was in the yellow. I never let my car get that low on fuel. I don't know where in the heck it went to!

The gauge said there was 1/8 left
I filled up today 12.005 gallons at 2.49 , cost me $30 so I threw in the ultimate carwash since I'm use to paying $35 a week for gas. At my house I park on a decline so since I lost that gas I started backing in. It seems like I didn't use as much gas this week as I did last week. I usually don't drive the car on the weekends. I'm usually in someone else'* car. My car just goes to work and back. We'll see how this next week goes.
